Biophysics: Recognizing Acupuncture in the Medical Picture
Acupuncture as effective energy medicine
I think what is missing from western allopathic medicine is energy medicine, which is maybe why TCM might seem unfounded and too foreign. What I find interesting is that acupuncture has been developed for thousands of years based on observation of the universe in a different way than western medicine. Physics has recently developed the concepts of the Quantum field and quantum entanglement, which illustrates some of the ways TCM functions. My personal experiences with acupuncture have shown me some of the depth and expanse of its effects. I have felt energy goes up the acupuncture meridians, floated into space, and have felt inflammation go down in my intestines. It is such a fascinating medicine & shows there's so much more to the universe than I thought before attending TCM school.
Kirlian Photography
There is more to life than the physical matter we can observe with our senses. I love that Kirlian photography exists and would love to experience it myself. It makes me think of my friend who can see auras in great detail. What she can read is beyond colors. She can see people, animals, symbols, and environments surrounding people.
Human Intention
The power of our intention needs to be taken into account. We also need to consider our perception of the world and our experiences. How we process those affects how we direct our intentions. Telling yourself to trust the universe has such a more positive effect on your health than think about how lonely you are. The stories we tell ourselves about our life experiences shape our state of being. If we can help craft clear intentions for our own health, that may help model to patients that it's possible and open them to crafting their intentions and perceptions.
I agree with the idea that not only is intention important in treating clients as an acupuncturist, but intention as ultra important in our own mindsets as healers! Not only will we serve as role models, we will be practicing what we preach if we are encouraging our patients to feel "healthy", to trust in their own health. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYes, I think intention is a rich source of power that can create tangible differences when healing oneself or others. I notice it the most drastically when I stretch my body. If I stretch without thinking, I can hurt myself and it won't be as deep. But when I apply my attention, I can tune in more, I feel what is happening in my body and I know what to do to get the best stretch. This is just one example, I feel like this is such a rich topic.
