Week 5: The Beauty of A World Oscillating Between Perfection and Imperfection

THE (A)SYMMETRICAL WORLD

"It's a wiggly world." - Alan Watts

The only constant in the universe is Change, right? But in order for anything to exist, there needs to be a reliable, symmetrical structure with which atoms and energy can come together. This we could call symmetry and super symmetry. One of the things about symmetry is that it has the potential to stay still, so to speak. The structure of a snowflake is perfect, and there's no need for movement for it to exist. Gravity just acts upon it. The Water molecule, in contrast, has a natural polarity between the oxygen and hydrogen atoms that inherently allow movement. So the natural imbalance enlists activity, if you will imagine, and is the perfect analogy for Change. We have Sacred Geometry established as the foundation of life: the Golden ratio and the Flower of Life are two great examples of this. The Golden Ratio is (almost) subconsciously used the DNA of trees, flowering plants, human, and can be even be seen in galaxies and our solar system. Maybe it's part of a driving force for life to exist, or maybe it just emerges as an integrated aspect of life as it continues to emerge, correct, and diversify.

The Flower of Life can be seen in meiosis and also in a zygote at a certain point of cellular division. This is a 3-D kind of symmetry. You can also see the human drive to find balance through duality in the Sri yantra, Platonic solids, and the Tai Ji (the yi yang symbol). In duality, you can easily imagine why we simplify life into two opposing and counterbalancing forces. We may have perfected structure that exists as symmetry, but we also need the asymmetry to trigger movement and evolution.  Perhaps we could refer to entropy and the Uncertainty principle at this point, right? The inherent aspect of the universe to make "mistakes" or diversify the immobile perfect of symmetry so that everything can keep emerging into existence. In a way, I imagine the universe existing in a proactive way - it maintains the necessary structure for things to exist & it shakes things up in order to continue changing, correcting, and evolving through the reality of diversification, mutation, and balancing.

When we see a symmetrical shape, there's a spiritual captivation: either in a beautiful face of a human or flower. There is also awe that can be inspired by grand asymmetry as well, like the grand nature of an ancient mountain. I know we strive to make sense of things, and symmetry is sort of more comforting for us, because it has order and structure. But the beauty of randomness, mutation, adaptation, and little quirks the universe throws into our personal lives and in larger schemes is because the only constant is Change. Change allows life to continue. Chaos has purpose. It moves the perfect structures of the universe.

CP VIOLATION

I don't want to go into the technical details of this too much, BUT I do understand that the CP Violation might explain why we can't find Dark Energy or Dark Mattter, because they may have decayed away.

SACRED GEOMETRY AND PHYSICS

There
Is definitely a connection between Sacred Geometry and Physics.  They are both attempts to explain the beautiful chaotic mystery of universal phenomena.
